The OETIO curriculum is developed using the Systems approach to training, and is consistent with the Ontario Apprenticeship Standards and the Canadian National Occupational Standards for both crane and heavy equipment trades.

OETIO facilities are equipped with the latest technology to transfer knowledge and to reinforce the skills required to operate equipment.

Simulators:
OETIO has both virtual reality and mechanical simulators that can replicate mobile and tower cranes and heavy equipment in a safe, controlled, and realistic environment.

Practical training:
OETIO uses full-size, industry standard equipment and specific field exercises to reinforce techniques for the inspection, maintenance, and operating of cranes and heavy equipment.
