IUOE, Local 793Local 793 of the International Union of Operating Engineers has been around for more than 85 years and represents more than 10,000 proud workers in Ontario’s construction industry. The goal of Local 793 is to supply safe, well-trained, efficient and versatile operators to the construction industry, while providing a good standard of living for their members and their families. IUOE negotiates good wages, pensions and benefits, and working conditions. Committed to member health and safety, and that of the public, Local 793 ensures that operators are trained to the highest standards. Training new apprentices is also a very important part of Local 793’s mandate. As older workers retire, it is vital that new workers are trained.
