Fundamentals of Heavy Equipment

This course provides the fundamentals of safety, equipment characteristics, operating techniques, transportation, and maintenance with respect to heavy equipment in the construction industry.  It is designed to serve as a prerequisite to the machine-specific operator training programs.

Duration:

80 hours over 10 days

Prerequisite: Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent
Format:

Classroom, laboratory activities, and equipment familiarization with emphasis on the knowledge requirement of heavy equipment operations.
