Tractor-Loader-Backhoe Operator

This course provides the fundamentals of safety, equipment characteristics, operation, transportation, and maintenance that apply to heavy equipment in the construction industry.  It will focus on the specifics of a Tractor-Loader-Backhoe and provide ample instruction and seat time for the student to become familiar with its unique operating characteristics and applications.

Duration: 240 hours over 30 days
Prerequisite: Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent
Format:

Classroom, laboratory activities and hands-on training with emphasis on practical operating skills on a Tractor-Loader-Backhoe (TLB). This course includes the two-week Fundamentals of Heavy Equipment followed by four weeks of practical field training.

Evaluation: Theory examinations and practical evaluations
Accreditation: OETIO certificate
