Working at Heights Course

The objective of this course is to enable worker to recognize fall hazards and identify and apply fall protection controls, including fall prevention and fall arrest.

OETIO Working at Heights Program is a blended delivery course. The theoretical portion of the course is approximately a 4 hour E-Learning module that can be completed at home. Upon successful completion of the E-Learning module, the participant schedules the practical at one of the OETIO's campuses or at an Area Office if available.

Practical Module:

  • Barriers and Other Fixed Equipment

  • Personal Fall Protection Equipment

  • Anchor Points

  • Work Access Equipment and Platforms

  • Rescue Planning

 

Refresher Training: 

  • If the participant has taken an MOL approved Working at Heights course after April 15, 2015 they must take a refresher course to extend validity for an additional 3 years. The refresher training consists of the practical component only.  Participants will need to provide their MOL Learner ID before they can be enrolled in training.

  • Workers whose employers require it as a condition of employment

 

Pre-requisite: 

  • None

 

Certification: 

  • Working at Heights training is valid for 3 years upon completion of training

  • Free to IUOE Local 793 members
