0-8 Ton Course

This instructor led course is 5 days for students who wish to operate a basic 0-8 ton mobile crane and is in accordance with Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) (Program P930030) pre-requisite requirements.

Theory: 2.5 days 

  • Safety

  • Proximity

  • Signals and Communication

  • Crane Types and Components

  • Hydraulics - Basic Theory

  • Wire and Synthetic Rope

  • Rigging and Rigging Hardware

Practical: 2.5 days

  • Pre-Operational Inspection

  • Basic Crane Maintenance

  • Load Charts - Crane Capacity and Configuration

  • Pre-Operational Inspections 

  • Crane Set Up

  • Assembly/disassembly of Manual Boom Extensions

  • Operations

  • Shut down

  • Travelling the crane

 

Course Length: 

  • 5 days In-class

Prerequisites: 

  • WHMIS certificate

  • Ministry of Labour Health and Safety Awareness for Workers and Supervisors

Certification: 

  • Upon successful completion of the OETIO 0-8 Ton program the participant must contact the Ministry of Labour, Training & Skills Development and arrange a time to write the (Program P930030) examination.
