Vertical Mast and Telescopic Boom

The Vertical Mast and Telescopic Boom Forklift training is a blended delivery course. The theoretical portion of the course is approximately a 4 hour  E-Learning module that can be completed at home. Upon successful completion of the E-Learning module the participant must book their 2 hour Instructor Led practical training at one of the OETIO campuses.

This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

eLearning Theory Module:

  • Legislation

  • Equipment Types and  Components

  • Basic Hydraulics

  • Pre Operational Inspections

  • Operating Procedures

  • Transportation: Loading and Unloading

  • Propane safety

 

Practical Module:

  • Pre-Operational Inspection

  • Start-up

  • Manoeuvering

  • Crab Walk

  • Stacking

  • Pick and Place

 

Who Should Attend: 

  • Workers whose employers require it as a condition of employment

​Course Length: 

  • 4 hours of eLearning

  • 2 hours of Instructor Led Practical Training

 

Pre-requisite: 

  • None

 

Certification: 

  • OETIO wallet card on successful completion of both the E-Learning and Practical modules, with no expiry

 

Cost: 

  • Free to IUOE Local 793 members.  Non-Members, $600.00
